Transformative Journey: Tracheal Shave, BBL, Lip Lift, and Hair Transplantation in Iran

The first time I chatted with Suzanne, her determiSuzanne’s Experience with Transgender Surgery in Irannation was magnetic. She was resolute about completing the transformation she had started years ago: a tracheal shave, Brazilian butt lift (BBL), and hair transplantation to address her gender dysphoria.

The communication and arrangements were effortless when a person knows what they want. As you may know, a tracheal shave involves shaving the Adam’s apple cartilage, while BBL entails injecting fat into the buttocks, and hair transplantation focuses on restoring hair.

As a nation that supports the transgender community, the SafeMedTour team was eager to welcome Suzanne from Hamburg, Germany. The visa application process was smooth, thanks to the efforts of the SafeMedTour Visa Team, who arranged everything for her. She received her visa upon arrival at Shiraz International Airport, and early on October 22, 2022, we finally met. My colleague Sama Zandi and I drove her to her hotel. Our workflow is well-organized: airport pickup, hotel check-in, rest, lab work, blood tests, check-ups, a hearty breakfast, doctor appointments, surgery dates, post-operative care, tours, follow-up appointments, and departure.

In Suzanne’s case, her hair transplantation was the first step. After two sessions, she achieved a feminine hairline and full density, thanks to what Suzanne referred to as “the artist,” Ayda Kiyani. Honestly, that smile on a patient’s face makes late hours worthwhile.

The next phase of Suzanne’s transformation was facial feminization surgery, specifically the tracheal shave. Following Dr. Dastgerdi’s suggestion, she also opted for a lip lift. The Brazilian butt lift was executed successfully as well.

Once the initial excitement settled and Suzanne had a chance to rest in her hotel room, we took her for her follow-up appointment. I saw just how content she was. Suzanne, whose name means “lily” in Farsi, was radiant and beaming throughout her stay. She was thrilled with her new look and had reached a milestone she had long awaited. The day we visited the historic private garden with pomegranate, persimmon, and grape trees in Shiraz was especially beautiful, mirroring her happiness, which was truly contagious.

Suzanne wanted to share her experience as a trans woman with the SafeMedTour Media Team.

As I mentioned, this was a well-organized teamwork effort. Ultimately, our beloved Suzanne returned safely to Hamburg on October 31, not only with her new appearance but with her authentic self.
